Who I Am
I’m Tom Scalisi, founder of RBI Gear. I’m a father of four—two of whom are dedicated baseball and softball athletes—and I’ve been deeply involved in the diamond sports community for over two decades. As a coach on three travels teams and a rec league board member, I spend my weekends surrounded by the very gear I review and recommend.
I’ve coached players at multiple levels and understand firsthand the challenges parents face when trying to balance quality, cost, and performance. While I wasn’t a standout athlete myself, I’ve spent years studying the game, the gear, and what truly helps players develop.
Why RBI Gear?
I started RBI Gear because I know what it’s like to drop thousands of dollars on equipment, only to discover something better a week later—or worse, realize the gear wasn’t what we needed. After spending countless hours at tournaments, practices, and showcases, I’ve seen what works, what doesn’t, and which products actually help players improve.
At RBI Gear, I personally test and evaluate gear whenever possible, and I stay up to date with the latest releases from brands like Rawlings, Wilson, Easton, Marucci, and more. My goal is to help families avoid the hype and find gear that fits their budget, needs, and goals.
