RBI Gear exists to help players and parents get the most they can from baseball and softball as well as the gear they require. We offer advice on gloves, bats, batting cages, and training tools to help the diamond sports community spend their money wisely on gear that actually produces results.
I’m the site’s main man: Tom Scalisi. I’m a parent of four children, two of which are diamond sports athletes, and I’ve coached at various levels for many, many years. I currently manage two travel teams and sit on the board of my local rec organization. In full disclosure, I’m not the greatest coach and I wasn’t all that talented when I played. However, I never stopped learning about the sport and have dedicated myself to helping boys and girls take baseball and softball as far as they want.
I started RBI Gear because I know what it’s like to spend thousands of dollars on equipment like gloves, bats, and catcher’s gear, only to have the “next best thing” come out the following week. Being exposed to this gear nearly every weekend at a baseball or softball tournament, I know which items really deliver. I’m around it all the time. I just want to help parents and players choose the right gear for themselves.
