Hi, I’m Tom Scalisi, the writer, coach, and dad behind RBI Gear. I started this site to help parents, players, and coaches make smarter choices when it comes to baseball and softball gear—and avoid wasting money on equipment that doesn’t deliver.
Real-World Experience
I’ve been immersed in the diamond sports world for over a decade. As a father of four and the coach/manager of three travel teams, I spend most of my weekends at the ballfield—coaching games, running practices, and talking shop with other parents, players, and coaches.
I also sit on the board of my local rec league, where I help shape the programs that support youth baseball and softball in our community.
I certainly wasn’t a top athlete myself when I played, but I’ve dedicated years to learning, coaching, and evaluating gear—and I use that knowledge to help families get real value from every bat, glove, and training tool they buy.
